self-financed (2012)
If you call your band Laugh At The Fakes you probably have some issues with some people… And if you add lyrics like “Now that you’re gone this life’s back on track”, “I’m finally into someone better than you” and “Two years too long” there is just no doubt, we defiantly have some issues here... This might be a good way to get over some lost loved one’s or something, but unless you are under 17 and unhappy it’s not very interesting or entertaining. Ok, enough said, you get the picture.
At least this Toronto based band knows how to handle both guitars and drums, and the music is half decent. What you get is 5 songs which I would call a mix between classic hard rock and heavy metal, ending with an acoustic ballad about “laughing the day away”, alright! (although I prefer D.A.D any day). All in all a little under average, but with the potential to evolve into something much better, both in the lyrics and songwriting department. If I understand correct, Laugh At the Fakes are still not signed by any record label, but both worse and better bands are signed every day, so you never know…
