Trixter - "New Audio Machine"

Frontiers Records (2012)

One of the bands from the East Coast that signalled the demise of US conventional hard rock, New Jersey’s Trixter return two decades from their last studio album with “New Audio Machine”. With no major label pressure on their shoulders, the original foursome creates their third studio platter the way they desire- still melodic but with occasional flashes of heaviness and grit on “Drag Me Down” and “Tattoos & Misery”.

Including a song written in the late 80’s with Skid Row’s Snake Sabo and Rachel Bolan called “Walk With A Stranger”, this is highway cruising, top down feel good hard rock with spirited multi-part harmonic choruses. The youngsters won’t get this, and many of my generation have moved onto lighter fare- but I’m sure there are a few pockets of people who will understand Trixter.
