Metal Blade Records (2012)
The old school thrash scene receives another chance due to the recent explosion of younger acts plying its energetic attributes. Exumer return with “Fire & Damnation”, bursting with conventional, heads down riffing and persistent, jack hammer drumming that makes songs like “Vermin Of The Sky”, “Waking The Fire” and “Devil Chaser” essential to all who miss German thrash with a slight tip of the cap to acts like Whiplash or Grip Inc.
Giving their long-time fans more of what they desire, “Fire & Damnation” probably won’t be considered one of the best thrash albums of 2012 due to its lack of innovation- but who really cares when the riffing, solos, hooks and songwriting delivers the goods.
