Soulseller Records (2012)
Chilling stoner/doom metal from Norway’s Tombstones on this six song, 39 minute effort. The bass sound reverberates deep into your soul, the drums large and thunderous while the vocals wail like plaintive cries from the bottom of a cavern. Songs like “Quintessential” and “Unveiling” have plenty of references of Black Sabbath, Captain Beyond, and others in that 70’s gloom rock mold- the grooves such that you can’t help but swing to and fro with the music.
Prepare for a fuzz tone production with the vocals distant to their musical accompaniment. Tombstones are an act brimming with potential, sure to cause a stir within the doom underground as they adhere to their audience’s desires- beating riffs into sonic submission and twisting your emotional restlessness inside out.
