Agonia Records (2012)

With members from Hell Militia, Antaeus, Secrets of the Moon, Glorior Belli and more we should be expecting good things from these guys and I’m glad to say “Sigil Whore Christ” does not disappoint.

In terms of sound you can expect Black/Death metal in the vein of Angelcorpse, Acheron etc. but “Sigil Whore Christ” goes beyond where these bands leave off. I think the reason for this is the balance that can be found on this release. At times we have brutal urgency and flat out shredding. Then we have more atmospheric parts that aim for the same kind of effects Marduk have achieved on the slower parts of recent releases (fans of Hell Militia probably have a good idea what this sounds like). Black thrash elements also raise their ugly head. All of these aspects are carried out faithfully, meaning we have an album that will appeal to those who like the old-school BM groove, modern impenetrability and atmosphere and well-integrated DM influences.
