Violent Journey Records (2012)
Bikers, babes, alcohol and rock n’ roll - the credo of Finnish trio F.T.W. Boogie Machine resonates loud and proud on their debut album “Bull’s Eye”. 13 songs extolling the virtues of motorcycles (“My Little Sister Gotta Motorbike”, “Hawk Of Iron”), sex (“Lick That Sugar Stick” ) and of course a couple of drinking songs that encourage audience engagement like “Vodkabilly Rebel” and “Top Alcohol Gangster”. Keeping the game plan simple, these three musicians throw down three chord, buzz tone hard rock, with the attitude of Venom and the execution of Motörhead or Chrome Division.
Probably entertaining in a live setting, “Bull’s Eye” merely mirrors what’s been done much better through the years by Motörhead - along with a dirty current Entombed tonality - and as such just sounds redundant and not appealing enough for my tastes.
