Debemur Morti (2012)

An interesting approach on Black Metal here by these Portuguese newcomers. The band is but three years old and on this, their debut demo, they put many older contenders to the dark-throne to shame.

Experimental but at the same time atmospheric Black Metal, Jazz Black, composed on the foundations Ved Buens Ende built many moons ago. AIP follow closely in VBE's footstep, as can be heard quite well in "Sulphur Garden", but there's a lot more Black Metal to be found here than on "Written in Waters", and the band seems to be drawing influences from modern eccentrics like Dødsengel and Blut Aus Nord.
